Vodka with lemon or lemon vodka are very popular drinks, often appearing at house parties or other types of events. These are great alternatives for people who are not particularly comfortable with the taste of pure alcohol. But how are the two types of alcohol really different?

Classic lemon vodka

Lemon vodka is not only a tasty and refreshing alcoholic drink that will win the hearts of guests, but also a tincture with health properties. Lemon itself is a rich source of vitamin C, which strengthens immunity and soothes many infections. In addition, it contains large amounts of beta-carotene, potassium, vitamins B and E, sodium, iron and magnesium. In addition, it stimulates the production of digestive enzymes, contributing to the cleansing of the body.

It is obvious that in order to create a tincture, alcohol is needed, which when consumed in large amounts is not healthy, but it will additionally strengthen the fruit's effect. The lemon vodka is prepared without subjecting the lemons to heat treatment, so they do not lose their properties. Many people also add honey, sugar, or both to make it sweet. Tincture consumed in small amounts can really have a positive effect on the human body. It is also very easy and quick to prepare and will surely appeal to many people.

Is lemon vodka the same as lemon vodka?

In theory, it might seem that lemon vodka is the same as lemon vodka. However, it is not so. The difference is that the tincture requires a longer preparation process - putting it aside for a while (preferably a few days) so that all the ingredients combine well. The longer it can stand, the more distinct, lemon flavor it will get. On the other hand, vodka with lemon is a shot or drink that is prepared on an ongoing basis during the event, and the whole process is much shorter. To prepare such a drink, you will need vodka and fresh lemon juice, which will reduce its aftertaste and make the drink more refreshing. This is the second difference between the two drinks - the tincture is made of the whole fruit with the skin, not just the juice. It is worth pouring the juice obtained after squeezing the lemon through a strainer to get rid of the pulp.

To sweeten the drink a bit, add sugar syrup to it. Its preparation is trivial and very quick, it will not take more than a few minutes. It is a good idea to prepare sugar syrup in advance by dissolving sugar in water, boiling such a solution and leaving it to cool. When this ingredient is ready, just pour it into a glass (about 30 ml), add vodka and lemon juice, and then mix everything thoroughly. On warmer days, it is recommended to throw in ice cubes. You can also add some sparkling water. There is also sour vodka with the addition of egg white, which will make the drink more velvety. For some, however, this ingredient may not be well-known. You can easily skip it or use dried protein powder.
